DO NOT USE****I wish I cold give less then one star. I was being talked to in a very disrespectful tone and when they called back I got hung up on for letting them know I didn’t appreciate the tone and way I was spoken to in the previous call I was hung up on! DO NOT USE*****
Wendy was awesome. She took extra time to make my very nervous dog feel calm and comfortable.
WORST DOG GROOMING EXPERIENCE!! PLS READ! After meeting Wendy and hearing of her years of experience and “love” for dogs I decided to go against my better instincts and look past the extremely filthy reception area, which was laden with decades of dust, cobwebs and crooked photos hanging on the wall. My dog had a haircut with Wendy and after noticing that her beard was crooked I decided to call back for a redo. Wendy was irritated and rude but told me to come back and she would fix it. Upon arrival, Wendy greeted us with defense and irritation and quickly snatched my dog to take her to the back table. Because of her anger and hostility my dog was completely distraught and I asked her to stop at which point she told me to leave. After backing out of sight I stayed. Wendy, thinking I had left, proceeded to loudly swear at my dog and swear about me, calling me names and speaking with such profanity I was in shock. After my first appointment , Wendy made me feel so very comfortable, speaking kindly and with love for my beloved dog. I was completely shocked to hear her speaking this way after she thought I had left. When the noise of the clippers stopped I was able to get my dog back and run out of there as quickly as possible with both my dog and myself shaking. I was mistaken to think that she was a lover of dogs and to hear someone speaking that way to my dog and about me was horrific. Not only is Wendy not a fan of the mop and broom she clearly isn’t a lover of animals. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!
I normally don’t write reviews as can be very subjective but after our recent experience at this pet salon I felt it necessary to warn other pet owners about taking their pet here for grooming. We have been going to see Wendy for several years now to have our Bearded Collie’s heavy coat shaved down. I have been usually pleased with the results. Our dog is always very nervous in unfamiliar situations but seemed to fair fairly well with Wendy. However that has all changed now as a result of our recent visit 2 days ago and I do feel something has changed with her personally. I had booked an appt for 10:00 am. When we got there the place was still closed. (This also happened at our last appt. On that occasion she never showed up so we just went back home and ended up rescheduling) After waiting approx 10 minutes she finally opened up. I spoke to her about our senior dog being 14 now and to remind her that he was starting to experience weakness in his back legs. I asked her what time should I pick him up. It was agreed upon at 3:00 pm. I returned at 3:00 pm to find my dog wasn’t ready as I could hear her still working on him. I waited a bit and she finally lead him out to me. To my horror my dog was unable to walk….his hind legs were dragging behind him. She never said anything just handed me my dog. I looked at her and said “what has happened here…I have never seen him like that before”. She just shrugged and said it took a long time to groom him as he was so matted. I said no he wasn’t and that she had even commented when I dropped him off on how his hair was pretty good but did have some matting on his legs. Our poor dog was completely paralyzed in his hind legs. It was a struggle just getting him back home. I did call Wendy when got home as needed to understand what might have happened. She was not apologetic and instead tried to put the blame on us saying he was extremely matted so took a long time to groom him. I reminded her that this was not true. She said that she worked on him in stages but during this time our dog was left on a high grooming table tethered to the wall. I asked if he was even let out for a pee as was there for 5 hours….she said no he hadn’t. I don’t know what happened to him during this time period but have a feeling he was left standing for a very long period which in turn put extreme stress on his hind legs which I had already told her were weak. I feel that whatever happened to him bordered on animal abuse and therefore will never bring our dog to her again.
Wendy does an amazing job and the end result is 100%! For other reviews to complain about smells, etc seems really petty. My puppy is so difficult to hold down just to bathe, never mind groom, but Wendy has the special gift of getting Nala to calm down. If I could give Wendy more stars, I would as her price is so reasonable and the grooming is nothing less than excellent.
Every time I bring Gizmo to see Wendy, he leaves looking cuter than ever! Wendy does a great job clipping his hair and an even better job making him feel comfortable. He gets excited and pulls on the leash as we walk from the car to her front door every time. He's a nervous dog, and Wendy is the only groomer we've had in Victoria who can seem to calm him and make him look great! Someone mentioned she's a dog whisperer, and I'd have to agree. I highly recommend her.
The place is quite filthy. It was always very stressful for my cat. Even though she said she makes sure that she does not have dogs there at the same time, there always was. She is also VERY chatty. I have seen her leave cats tied up at her grooming station while she chats for 10-15 mins to customers at the front. A leash around the cats neck is used while grooming, which I did not like. I didn't realize how bad it was until I tried a certified master feline groomer in town. Suds N Scissors is cheap, but you get what you pay for. I do feel bad because the owner is super nice and you can tell she really loves dogs, but her salon is really not up to spec.
Very happy! Easy to book an appointment (even on short notice). Great communication overall. Wendy was very nice to our shy dog. Wendy followed our wishes exactly and our poodle looks as good as he ever has. We will definitely be back.
¡No te vayas!
¡No llevaría a mis animales a ningún otro lugar!
No, no volverá... ¡fue mala! Incluso golpeó a mi gato.
